OUR PROGRAMS
Every Little is different. Every Big is different. Our variety of programs allow you to choose a path that best suits your lifestyle.
COMMUNITY-BASED MENTORING
Our traditional one-to-one mentoring model. Caring adult mentors (Bigs) and children ages 5-15 (Littles) spend time together in the community doing activities they both enjoy.
SCHOOL-SITE MENTORING
High school students or adult mentors (Bigs) and young student ages 5-12 (Littles) spend time together once per week at the Little's school doing activities they both enjoy.
REACH
The REACH program matches mentors with a student enrolled in a REACH class at their school. Matches meet twice a month, in-person at the student's school.
AVID
The AVID program matches mentors with a student enrolled in an AVID class at their school. Matches meet twice a month, both virtually and in-person, during the school day.
MORE WAYS TO EMPOWER POTENTIAL
BE A MATCH MAKER
When we make a Big & Little match, it’s not a one-and-done kind of thing. We provide consistent support to grow, strengthen, and empower each Big & Little relationship. That’s what being a Match Maker is all about. It’s being an ongoing, monthly supporter. It’s giving a bit, whatever amount works for you, consistently. Because that’s what a Big Brothers Big Sisters match is: consistent.
REFER A FRIEND
You can help "pass it on" by referring friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Encourage them to visit our Become a Big webpage or send us an email at info@bbbsofsouthernmn.org. After inquiring, a Big Brothers Big Sisters staff member will reach out with more information and help them get the process started.
SPREAD THE WORD
Do you know a friend, neighbor, or coworker who shares your passion for empowering others? Together, we can serve more youth by spreading the word about the need for mentors in our community. Workplaces and community organizations are a great places to share the impact of mentorship. Interested sharing marketing materials or having Big Brothers Big Sisters' staff speak at a meeting or event? Let us know!
